cardiovascular sounds
Cardiovascular sounds are the noises made by the heart and blood vessels during their normal function. The primary sounds, "lub-dub," come from the heart valves closing as blood flows through the heart. The first sound ("lub") is when the ventricles contract, pushing blood out, and the second ("dub") occurs when the valves between the heart and major arteries close after contraction. Sometimes, additional sounds or murmurs can be heard, indicating turbulent blood flow, which may signal underlying issues. Listening to these sounds helps healthcare providers assess heart health and detect possible problems.
