
Cardinal William Levada
Cardinal William Levada (1936–2019) was a prominent Roman Catholic Church leader who served as the Prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, overseeing Church teachings and doctrine, from 2005 to 2012. He also served as Archbishop of San Francisco and was made a cardinal in 2006. Levada played a key role in addressing issues like Church doctrine, relations with other Christian denominations, and matters of faith and morality.
