Cardinal Paolo Massimo (Cardinal)
Cardinal Paolo Massimo (1559–1628) was a high-ranking official in the Roman Catholic Church, serving as a cardinal—a senior leader responsible for helping guide church teachings and decisions. Appointed in 1604 by Pope Clement VIII, he played a significant role in church administration and religious affairs during the early 17th century. Cardinals often advise the pope and, upon his death, select the next pope through a conclave. Massimo’s influence extended to theological and diplomatic matters, contributing to the church’s stability and direction during a pivotal period of religious history.
