Cardiac SPECT

Cardiac SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) is a non-invasive imaging test that creates detailed pictures of the heart's blood flow and function. It uses a small amount of a safe radioactive tracer injected into your bloodstream, which travels to your heart. Special cameras around your chest detect the gamma rays emitted by the tracer, allowing doctors to see how well blood is reaching different parts of your heart. This helps diagnose conditions like coronary artery disease, assess heart damage, and evaluate overall heart health, guiding appropriate treatment decisions.
