cardiac ischemia

Cardiac ischemia occurs when blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced, usually due to blockages in the coronary arteries. This interruption limits oxygen and nutrients reaching the heart tissue, which can cause chest pain (angina) and, if prolonged, lead to heart muscle damage or a heart attack. Ischemia can be triggered by narrowing arteries from plaque buildup or other factors that impair blood flow. It’s a serious condition that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment to restore adequate blood supply and prevent further heart damage.
