Cardiac Ablation

Cardiac ablation is a medical procedure used to treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). During the procedure, doctors insert thin, flexible tubes called catheters through blood vessels to reach the heart. They then use heat or cold energy to destroy small areas of heart tissue that cause irregular electrical signals. This can help restore a normal heartbeat, reduce symptoms, and improve the patient’s quality of life. Ablation is typically performed when medications do not effectively control the arrhythmia or when a more permanent solution is desired. It is usually considered safe and can be done in a hospital setting.
