carbon storage

Carbon storage is the process of capturing and holding carbon dioxide (CO₂) to prevent it from entering the atmosphere and contributing to climate change. This can happen naturally, like forests absorbing CO₂ through photosynthesis, or artificially, through technologies that capture emissions from industries and power plants. The captured CO₂ is then stored underground in rock formations or other secure locations. Effective carbon storage helps reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the air, supporting efforts to combat global warming while still allowing for energy production and industrial activity.
