Carbidopa-levodopa
Carbidopa-levodopa is a medication used to treat Parkinson’s disease, a condition that causes tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with movement. Levodopa is the main ingredient that replenishes dopamine, a chemical in the brain that helps control movement. Carbidopa is combined with levodopa to prevent some of it from being broken down before reaching the brain, allowing more to be effective and reducing side effects like nausea. Together, they improve motor symptoms and help patients move more smoothly, enhancing their ability to perform daily activities.
