CAR-T Therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy)

CAR-T therapy is an advanced form of immunotherapy that uses a patient's own T cells, a type of immune cell, to fight cancer. In this process, T cells are collected from the blood and modified in the lab to produce special receptors known as chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). These CARs help the T cells recognize and attack cancer cells more effectively. Once reintroduced into the patient’s body, the engineered T cells seek out and destroy cancer cells, offering a personalized and targeted treatment option, particularly for certain blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.
