Capoeira weapons
Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art, traditionally incorporates weapons such as the berimbau (a musical bow), knives, and small sticks called caxias. These weapons are used in historical training and performances to showcase agility, skill, and cultural heritage. While modern Capoeira mainly emphasizes dance, music, and self-defense techniques, the weapons symbolize historical combat tools and contribute to the art’s rhythmic, theatrical nature. They are generally not used in contemporary practice but are preserved as important symbols of the martial art’s history and cultural significance.
