Canon vs Legends

In the Star Wars universe, "Canon" refers to the official stories and materials recognized as part of the main storyline, such as the movies, certain TV shows, and recent books and comics approved by Lucasfilm. "Legends" encompasses older stories, novels, comics, and games created before 2014 that are no longer considered part of the official storyline but are still enjoyed by fans. Essentially, Canon is the current, official continuity, while Legends are the expanded universe stories that exist parallel to it, contributing to the franchise’s rich history but not influencing the main plot.
