CanMEDS framework

The CanMEDS Framework is a model developed by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada that defines the essential roles of medical practitioners. It highlights seven key areas, including Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Leader, Health Advocate, Scholar, and Professional. These roles ensure that physicians not only possess medical knowledge and skills but also effectively communicate, work with others, advocate for patients, lead healthcare teams, engage in lifelong learning, and uphold ethical standards. This framework aims to create well-rounded doctors who can provide high-quality care and improve healthcare systems.
