Canine influenza

Canine influenza, also known as dog flu, is a contagious respiratory infection caused by specific flu viruses that affect dogs. It spreads through coughing, sneezing, or contact with infected saliva and secretions. Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, fever, nasal discharge, and lethargy, which can range from mild to severe. While many dogs recover with supportive care, some may develop pneumonia or other complications. Vaccines are available for prevention, especially in high-risk environments like kennels or dog parks. Good hygiene and avoiding contact with infected dogs are important in reducing transmission.
