Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines
Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines recommend that adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each week, such as brisk walking, cycling, or sports. This can be broken into sessions of about 10 minutes or more. Additionally, adults should include muscle- and bone-strengthening activities, like weightlifting or resistance exercises, at least two days a week. For children and youth, the guidelines suggest at least 60 minutes of activity daily, including aerobic, muscle, and bone-strengthening exercises. These guidelines promote overall health, reduce disease risk, and support mental well-being.
