Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) was a government agency responsible for managing Canada’s foreign aid and development assistance programs from 1968 until 2013. Its goal was to support sustainable development, reduce poverty, and promote stability in developing countries through funding projects in areas like education, health, and economic growth. In 2013, CIDA was consolidated into Global Affairs Canada, which now handles Canada’s international aid and diplomatic efforts. Essentially, CIDA worked to improve living conditions abroad and foster global development in partnership with other nations and organizations.
