Canada Learning Bond
The Canada Learning Bond is a government program that provides financial support to help children from low-income families save for post-secondary education. Eligible families receive an initial government contribution of up to $500 when the child is born or enrolled, with additional annual payments of $100 up to age 15, totaling a maximum of $2,000. The funds are deposited into a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP), which can grow over time for future education costs. This program aims to make post-secondary education more accessible by reducing the financial barriers for low-income families.
