Camus' Revolt
Camus' concept of revolt is the act of consciously defying and resisting life's absurdity—the belief that life has no inherent meaning—without capitulating to despair or nihilism. It involves embracing life passionately and ethically, asserting one’s humanity despite its lack of ultimate purpose. Essentially, revolt is an ongoing, active stance of rebellion—living with dignity, integrity, and recognition of cosmic indifference, while refusing to surrender to nihilism. Camus sees this continuous engagement as a meaningful response to the absurd, fostering personal integrity and authentic existence.
