Camrowing

Camrolling, also known as camming, is a technique used in mechanical systems where a cam— a rotating or sliding component with a specifically shaped surface—transmits motion to a follower. As the cam turns or moves, its profile pushes the follower in a precise, controlled manner, converting rotary motion into linear or oscillating motion. This method allows for complex, repeatable movement patterns, commonly found in machinery like engines, automation equipment, and watches, enabling precise control of timing and motion sequences within these devices.
