Camphill Movement
The Camphill Movement is a global network of intentional communities that foster inclusive living and work environments for people with developmental disabilities and other challenges. Founded in 1939 in Scotland, it emphasizes mutual support, meaningful employment, and community participation. Residents, whether with disabilities or not, collaborate in agriculture, crafts, and daily activities, promoting dignity, independence, and social integration. Rooted in anthroposophy—a spiritual philosophy—Camphill seeks to nurture individual growth and social harmony, creating environments where all members contribute to and benefit from communal life.
