Calvinistic Baptists
Calvinistic Baptists are Christians who combine the Baptist emphasis on believer’s baptism by immersion with Calvinist theology, which emphasizes God's sovereignty in salvation. They believe that salvation is entirely a work of God's grace, meaning that before creation, God chose certain individuals for salvation, and that Christ's atonement is effectively applied to those he elected. They value the authority of the Bible, local church autonomy, and the importance of personal faith. In essence, Calvinistic Baptists uphold the biblical teaching that God's sovereign grace is central to salvation, while maintaining the Baptist distinctiveness of believer's baptism and congregational governance.
