California Pay Transparency Law

California’s Pay Transparency Law requires employers to include pay ranges in job postings, allowing applicants to know potential salary ranges upfront. It also prohibits employers from asking about a candidate’s prior salary before offering a job. The goal is to promote pay equity, reduce wage gaps, and give applicants better information to negotiate salaries. This law applies to most employers with 15 or more employees and aims to make compensation practices more transparent and fair.
