California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE)

The California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) was a standardized test students in California had to pass to graduate from high school. It assessed skills in reading, writing, and math to ensure students met basic statewide academic standards. Designed to confirm that students are prepared for college or career opportunities, the exam was administered annually. However, as of 2015, the CAHSEE requirement has been suspended, and students can now graduate without passing it, although the test remains an important part of California’s education assessment history.
