They protect California’s forests, private lands, and communities from fires through prevention, education, and emergency response. In addition to battling wildfires, CAL FIRE also manages forest health, conducts fire safety inspections, and helps with disaster preparedness. The agency works collaboratively with local fire departments and federal agencies to safeguard lives, property, and natural resources across California.
