Caddo Confederacy
The Caddo Confederacy was a group of related Native American tribes in what is now Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. They formed a loose alliance around 700-1500 AD to enhance their economic, political, and military strength. The Caddo were skilled farmers, hunters, and traders, known for mound-building and complex social organization. Their confederacy allowed them to share resources and coordinate defense against rivals. This social and political system helped sustain their culture for centuries until European contact and changing conditions led to their displacement.
