Cadaveric Grafts

Cadaveric grafts are tissue transplants taken from a deceased individual donated for that purpose. These grafts can include skin, heart valves, tendons, or corneas, and are used to repair or replace damaged tissues in living patients. The tissues are carefully preserved and tested for safety before transplantation. Cadaveric grafts are valuable because they often match the recipient well, helping restore function or sight, and improve quality of life. They play a crucial role in medical treatments, especially when autografts (from the patient’s own body) aren’t possible or sufficient.
