Cabot's voyages

John Cabot, an Italian explorer sailing for England, made a significant voyage in 1497 to find a westward route to Asia. Instead of reaching Asia, he landed in what is now Canada, likely around Newfoundland. His expedition marked one of the first European attempts to explore North America, opening the door for future explorers and colonization. Cabot’s voyage demonstrated the potential for new maritime routes and contributed to European knowledge of the Atlantic and North American coasts, laying the groundwork for future exploration and eventual settlement in the New World.
