CA-125 Test
The CA-125 test measures the level of a protein called CA-125 in the blood, which can be elevated in certain conditions, especially ovarian cancer. It is primarily used to help monitor treatment response or detect recurrence in women already diagnosed with ovarian cancer. However, elevated CA-125 levels can also occur with other benign conditions like menstruation, endometriosis, or infections. The test is not a standalone diagnostic tool but part of a broader assessment, helping doctors interpret symptoms and imaging results to guide diagnosis and management.
