C41 process
The C-41 process is a standardized way to develop color negative film in a darkroom or lab. It involves several chemical steps: first, the exposed film is developed to turn the invisible image into visible dye layers; then, it’s stabilized to prevent fading. The process uses specific temperature control and timed chemical baths to ensure accurate color reproduction and image quality. Once completed, the film becomes a color negative that can be printed or scanned. C-41 is widely used because it creates consistent, high-quality color images and is compatible across most color films.
