Cádiz Cortes
Cádiz Cortes was the first modern parliamentary assembly in Spain, established in 1810 during the Spanish War of Independence against Napoleon. It was convened to create a constitution and represent various regions of Spain, marking a shift toward constitutional monarchy and national sovereignty. The assembly included representatives from different social classes and regions, working to modernize Spain's political system. Although it was dissolved after a few years, Cádiz Cortes laid foundational principles for democracy and constitutional government in Spain.
