C. albicans

Candida albicans is a type of yeast, a microscopic fungus naturally present in the human body, especially in the mouth, gut, and skin. Usually harmless, it can sometimes grow excessively and cause infections known as candidiasis. These infections may affect areas like the mouth (thrush), skin, or genitals, and can occur if the immune system is weakened or if balance of natural flora is disrupted. While generally manageable, Candida albicans can become problematic if not controlled. It’s important to maintain good hygiene and health to prevent overgrowth and related infections.
