Bwrdd yr Iaith Gymraeg

Bwrdd yr Iaith Gymraeg, or the Welsh Language Board, was a government organization established to promote and support the use of the Welsh language. Its main goal was to ensure that Welsh remained a vibrant and widely used language in Wales by developing policies, providing resources, and encouraging public and private sector use. The organization worked on language planning, education, and public awareness initiatives, aiming to strengthen Welsh cultural identity and make the language accessible to all members of society. It operated until 2012, when its functions were absorbed into other Welsh government departments.
