Butterfly Life Cycle

The butterfly life cycle has four main stages. It begins as an egg laid on a plant. The egg hatches into a caterpillar (larva), which eats and grows. When it’s ready, the caterpillar forms a chrysalis (pupa), where it transforms internally. After some time, the adult butterfly emerges, with wings that need to dry. This adult then mates and lays eggs, restarting the cycle. This process, called metamorphosis, is a remarkable transformation from egg to caterpillar, to chrysalis, and finally to a flying butterfly.
