Buriat people

The Buriat people are an indigenous ethnic group primarily living in the Buryatia region of Siberia, Russia, and neighboring Mongolia. They are descendants of Mongolic tribes and share cultural and linguistic ties with Mongols. Traditionally, Buriats are nomadic herders of cattle, horses, and yaks, with a spiritual blend of Buddhism and shamanism. Their rich cultural heritage includes unique music, crafts, and festivals. Despite Soviet-era changes, they maintain their language and customs, contributing to Siberia’s diverse ethnic landscape through their history, religion, and traditions.
