The Duchy of Burgundy was a historic region in modern-day France, originally centered around the Duchy of Burgundy established in the 11th century. Over time, it expanded and became a significant political entity, especially during the late Middle Ages and Renaissance, when it included parts of what is now eastern France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
