Bunions
A bunion is a bony bump that develops at the base of the big toe, where it joins the foot. It occurs when the bone or tissue around the big toe joint shifts out of its normal position, causing the toe to point inward toward the other toes. This misalignment can lead to swelling, redness, and discomfort, especially when walking or wearing tight shoes. Bunions can develop from genetics, footwear choices, or conditions like arthritis. Treatment may include padding, footwear adjustments, or, in severe cases, surgery to realign the joint.
