The Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI), or Federal Office for Information Security, is Germany’s national agency responsible for protecting government IT systems and critical infrastructure from cyber threats. It develops security standards, offers guidance, and implements measures to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security across public and private sectors. BSI also monitors cybersecurity threats, collaborates internationally, and promotes best practices to prevent cyberattacks, data breaches, and digital vulnerabilities, helping to maintain trust in digital communications and infrastructure within Germany.
