Bulk Flotation
Bulk flotation is a mineral processing technique used to separate valuable minerals from waste rock. In this process, crushed ore is mixed with water and chemicals that make the desired minerals hydrophobic (water-repelling). Air bubbles are then introduced, which attach to these minerals and carry them to the surface as foam or froth. This froth is skimmed off, concentrating the valuable minerals together in one step, rather than separating each mineral individually. Bulk flotation streamlines processing by targeting multiple valuable minerals simultaneously, improving efficiency and reducing costs in mineral recovery operations.
