Buddhism on Afterlife
Buddhism views the afterlife as a cycle of rebirth known as samsara, influenced by karma—the moral quality of one's actions. After death, an individual's consciousness is reborn into a new life, which can be human or non-human, based on past deeds. This cycle continues until one achieves enlightenment (nirvana), breaking free from suffering and samsara. Unlike some traditions, Buddhism does not emphasize a permanent soul; rather, it teaches that identity is fluid and interdependent. Ultimately, the goal is to transcend these cycles and attain a state of peace beyond birth and rebirth.
