BTI

BTI, or Bovine Tuberculosis Infection, is a disease caused by the bacteria *Mycobacterium bovis*, primarily affecting cattle but also capable of infecting other animals and humans. It spreads through respiratory droplets when infected animals cough or sneeze, as well as via contaminated feed or environment. BTI can lead to chronic illness in animals, impacting their health and productivity, and poses a zoonotic risk, meaning humans can acquire it through close contact or consuming unpasteurized dairy products. Controlling BTI involves testing, culling infected animals, and implementing biosecurity measures to prevent its spread within herds and to people.
