Bruton
Bruton’s agammaglobulinemia, commonly called Bruton's disease, is a rare genetic disorder where the immune system fails to produce enough antibodies, the proteins that help fight infections. This results from the absence or severe deficiency of a type of immune cell called B cells, which normally create these antibodies. Without sufficient antibodies, affected individuals are more vulnerable to recurrent bacterial infections, especially of the ears, sinuses, and lungs. The condition is usually diagnosed in early childhood and is managed through regular antibody replacement therapy (immunoglobulin infusions) to help prevent infections.
