Bruce Ismay
Bruce Ismay was a British businessman and the managing director of the White Star Line, a prominent shipping company. He is best known for surviving the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912, an event that claimed over 1,500 lives. Ismay’s decision to board the Titanic, despite being advised against, and his subsequent survival led to accusations of cowardice and controversy. His actions and the tragedy itself have made him a prominent figure in history, often associated with questions of ethics, leadership, and responsibility during one of the early 20th century’s most infamous maritime disasters.
