Brownshirts

The Brownshirts, officially known as the Sturmabteilung (SA), were a paramilitary organization affiliated with Nazi Germany. Founded in the 1920s, they used intimidation, violence, and street fighting to support Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party's rise to power. Their distinctive brown uniforms earned them the name "Brownshirts." They played a key role in suppressing political opponents and creating a climate of fear, helping the Nazis consolidate control of Germany in the early 1930s. Over time, their influence declined, especially after the Night of the Long Knives in 1934, when the Nazi leadership sought to curb their power.
