Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Model

Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Model explains how a person's development is influenced by different environments, or "systems," around them. It includes five levels: the microsystem (immediate surroundings like family), the mesosystem (connections between those settings), the exosystem (indirect influences like parents’ workplaces), the macrosystem (cultural and societal values), and the chronosystem (changes over time). These layers interact, shaping behaviors, attitudes, and growth. The model emphasizes that personal development is rooted in complex, interconnected contexts rather than just individual traits.
