bronchial washing
Bronchial washing is a medical procedure used to collect samples from the airways of the lungs. A doctor inserts a thin, flexible tube called a bronchoscope through the nose or mouth into the lungs. They then spray a small amount of sterile fluid into the airways and gently suction it back. This fluid, which contains cells, mucus, and other substances, is analyzed to detect infections, inflammation, or abnormal cells, such as cancer. Bronchial washing helps doctors diagnose lung diseases accurately and plan appropriate treatments.
