bronchial tree
The bronchial tree is a network of passages within the lungs that starts from the windpipe (trachea) and branches into smaller tubes called bronchi and bronchioles. These airways direct inhaled air deep into the lungs, reaching tiny air sacs called alveoli where oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide. The structure resembles a branching tree, efficiently distributing air to every part of the lungs. This design maximizes gas exchange, supporting breathing and oxygen delivery to the body’s tissues.
