Bronchial Blocker
A bronchial blocker is a medical device used during certain surgeries or procedures to temporarily block airflow to one lung, allowing the surgeon to operate more easily while the other lung continues to supply oxygen. It consists of a small tube with an inflatable balloon that is inserted into the airway under guidance. Once in place, the balloon is inflated to occlude the bronchus leading to the lung that needs to be collapsed. This approach provides precise lung isolation, improves surgical conditions, and helps ensure patient safety during thoracic procedures.
