Brodie technique
The Brodie technique is a medical procedure used to treat certain bone infections, especially in the femur or thigh bone. It involves removing infected or dead tissue from within the bone while preserving healthy bone structure. The surgeon makes an incision, accesses the infected area, and carefully cleans out the infection. This technique helps to eliminate the infection, reduce pain, and promote healing, often allowing the patient to recover without the need for more extensive surgery like full bone removal. It’s considered effective for managing localized bone infections with relatively limited tissue damage.
