
Broch of Gurness
The Broch of Gurness is an ancient stone fortress located on the Orkney Islands in Scotland, dating back to about 100 BCE to 200 CE. It features a large, circular structure with thick stone walls, a central courtyard, and multiple internal rooms. Originally built as a defensible home and community center, it provides insight into Iron Age life.
