Broadcast music

Broadcast music refers to the transmission of music through media platforms like radio, TV, internet streaming, or public broadcasts. When music is broadcast publicly, the rights holders—such as artists, composers, and record labels—are entitled to royalties. Organizations called Performing Rights Organizations (PROs) collect these royalties on behalf of creators and publishers. Essentially, broadcast music ensures that creators are compensated whenever their compositions are played to the public, supporting ongoing creation and distribution of music. It’s a fundamental part of the music industry’s system for fairly remunerating artists for their work when it reaches audiences via mass media.
