Brix Measurement
Brix measurement is a way to determine the sweetness or sugar content in liquids like fruit juice, wine, or syrup. It is expressed as a percentage, indicating how much of the liquid’s weight is sugar. For example, a Brix of 20 means 20 grams of sugar are present in 100 grams of liquid. This measurement helps producers and consumers assess ripeness, quality, and process suitability. Devices called refractometers are often used, which measure how much light bends when passing through the liquid, with higher sugar levels causing more bending.
